A lovely warm spring afternoon! I checked on the hives today. The neighbor two houses east of the property I’m keeping my bees at had an awesome suggestion. My queen cages had corks but no candy plugs. So last week she advised me to replace the cork with a mini marshmallow. Today, when I opened the hives and checked the cages, the marshmallows were gone, and the queens were out of their cages!
comb is being built. I did a quick check. I didn’t see any brood yet, will check again in a week.
